The UCC group of clinics are an alternative to a hospital emergency department. We offer immediate care and treatment for patients who have non life-threatening illnesses or injuries along with other Primary Care Services. We are equipped to provide medical attention to patients of all ages. Our clinics are modern, comfortable, and convenient offering multiple locations. Walk-In Urgent Care

If you are experiencing severe pains, potentially life threatening problems or severe injuries, you should go to the nearest Hospital Emergency Room directly or dial 911.

Walk-in Urgent Care provides treatment for patients who have non-life threatening illnesses or injuries.

Fracture Clinic

UCC operates a weekly fracture clinic at the Brampton East Site run by Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr Hai-Feng Ren. Fractures initially managed by our UCC physicians are then referred to the fracture clinic for further care. We offer a variety of casting and splinting options. Physicians can fax referrals to 416-750-1500.

Cardiology Services

Cardiology Services UCC is able to organize initial cardiology assessments and specialized care through our alliance with Cardiologists working at iHealth and other referral centres providing care on Cardiology and Respirology.

Naturopathic Care

UCC operates a satellite naturopathic teaching clinic of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine at the Brampton West site. Student interns work under the supervision of licensed naturopathic doctors to provide care in areas such as diabetes, weight management, cardiovascular concerns, anxiety/depression, insomnia and more using treatments such as acupuncture, botanical medicine, nutrition, lifestyle counselling etc.

Family Medicine

We currently do not have family physicians accepting new patients. We are actively recruiting new physicians and will update this site accordingly.

Lump and Bumps clinic

‘Dr. Tasvir Gayaprashad operates a weekly clinic at the Etobicoke site. He will see patients who need any of
the following procedures:
• Mole removal
• Sebaceous cysts removal (Please indicate infectious or non-infectious)
• Lipoma removal
• Ingrown toenails/oncogryphotic toenails excision/resection
• Simple biopsies
• Skin tags removal
• Foreign body removal
• Ganglion cyst drainage
• Steroid knee injections
A referral letter will be required form your family physician or from one of the UCC physicians. Please
note that some of the services may not be covered under OHIP and may have a charge associated with it

General Internal Medicine

‘Dr. Andrew Ramadeen is an Internal Medicine Specialist at the William Osler Health System. He did his MD at McMaster University and his Internal Medicine residency at U of T. He did graduate work in cardiology at U of T as well. A referral letter will be required form your family physician or from one of the UCC physicians.

The GIM clinic can see a range of consults including but not limited to:
Chest pain
Hypertension
Diabetes
Shortness of breath

OUR PHYSICIANS

Many of our doctors also work in hospital emergency rooms and are able to manage a wide range of medical and surgical emergencies. They are trained to provide additional care such as casting fractures and suturing lacerations, saving you time waiting in the emergency waiting room.

WHO DO WE SEE?

The Urgent Care Centre Organization is a provider of insured healthcare services to Ontario residents who possess a valid Ontario Health Insurance Policy (OHIP) card. (Please see further details concerning payment policies for uninsured services and non-residents of Ontario)

WHO IS SEEN FIRST AT THE URGENT CARE CENTRE?

PATIENT RECORDS

We use a specialized electronic medical record system so our patient files can be readily accessed at any of our locations.

MEDICAL RECORDS

If you require your medical records to be transferred to another physician, please send a signed release to healthinformation@urgentcarecentre.ca or fax it to 416-750-1500. We will require a signed release before we can process your request. Please keep in mind there will be a charge for this transfer and will be based on the quantity of pages requested. If you wish to view the original record, one of our staff must be present to maintain the integrity of the record

LEARNERS

UCC clinics are teaching sites for medical students and residents. From time-to-time medical students and residents will be involved in your care. These learners are always under direct supervision from a UCC staff physician to ensure a high quality of care is delivered. If you do not want a learner to be involved in your care, please advise our administrative staff upon registration

UCC Policy and Procedures

Our Policy and Procedures

1. UCC physicians perform a variety of services which OHIP does not cover; services include: notes for school/work, wart removal, medical examinations for employment etc. There is a standard charge for all services set by the Ontario Medical Association (OMA). Patients will be notified of the cost prior to treatment and are to cover the cost of the service.  Click here for a full list of uninsured services and prices.

2. The Urgent Care Centre Organization is a provider of insured healthcare services to Ontario residents who possess a valid Ontario Health Insurance Policy (OHIP) card. Patients who do not possess a valid health card must cover the cost of service. We accept cash, Interac, Visa, and Mastercard for payments. Upon presentation of a valid OHIP card, it will take 1-2 months for reimbursement.

3. Test results of any kind cannot be given over the phone. The patient must review the results with the doctor in person.

4. Our doctors do not prescribe narcotics to other doctor’s patients.

UCC Test Result Policy

All patients are expected to come back to UCC for follow-up on test results as appropriate. At the end of having your test done, the testing facility will let you know when to expect your results to arrive at UCC. Upon arrival of your tests results, they are reviewed by the physician and tests will be flagged for patient call back to the clinic as appropriate. In general most negative tests are NOT flagged for patient call back. It is up to the patient to return to UCC to review all test results with the physician on duty.

For privacy reasons, we cannot give any test results over the phone or any other medium including fax and email.

Upon arrival of your tests results, they are reviewed by the physician and tests will be flagged for patient call back to the clinic as appropriate. The call back notification will be in the form of a telephone call or a text message.

Uninsured / Out of Province Coverage

Patients with out of province health cards will be required to make a payment to UCC and then will be provided with a reimbursement form and a receipt of payment so that they can be reimbursed from their province of health coverage.

Travelers with private insurance or uninsured patients will be charged a flat fee of $100 at registration along with any additional fees as required for procedures. A receipt of payment will be provided. Completion of a travelers insurance form is a separate charge above and beyond the above visit fee.
